 Megastar Chiranjeevi starrer 'Shankardada Zindabad' is a Hindi remake of Sanjay Dutt's blockbuster hit 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It is known that this is the sequel of 'Munnabhai MBBS'. Chiranjeevi also acted in the Telugu remake of that movie 'Shankardada MBBS' (2005). While the first film did well, the sequel was not as popular as expected. Chiru had a great chemistry with Sonali Bendre who played the female lead in it. The romance between the two impressed the audience. In the sequel, Karishma Kotak, a model and newcomer, played the heroine. But she and the little romance with her did not entertain the audience at all.

Famous Marathi actor Dilip Prabhavalkar played the most important role of Gandhiji in 'Shankardada Zindabad' directed by Prabhu Deva. He also acted in the original movie. As no replacement was found for him, Prabhavalkar was taken for the Telugu remake. Directed by Prabhu Deva, Srikanth (ATM), Venniradai Nirmala, Sayaji Shinde, Brahmanandam, Sarathbabu, Venumadhav, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam played key roles in this movie, while Yana Gupta sang the hit item number "Akaleste Annam Pedatha".

The special feature of this movie is that many stars are giving a special appearance. Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja.. shone like lightning for a few seconds. Sada, Nagababu and Prabhudeva also gave guest appearance. Devi Sriprasad's music and Chota K. Naidu's cinematography are assets of the movie.
