 Akkineni's young hero Naga Chaitanya, who is riding high with consecutive successes like 'Majili', 'Venky Mama', 'Love Story' and 'Bangarraju', got a huge shock in the form of 'Thank you'. At the end of the first weekend, this movie could not even get half of the first day collections of Chaitanya's previous films. This movie which got terrible openings is heading towards the biggest disaster in Chaitanya's career.

According to the estimates of the trade circles, Thank You, which did a theatrical business of Rs.24 crores worldwide, collected Rs.2.16 crores on the first day, 94 lakhs on the second day and 50 lakhs on the third day. The movie has collected 3.60 crore share in the first weekend worldwide and is still 21 crores away from breaking even. This movie is getting terrible collections from the first day. While Chaitanya's previous films collected more than 7-8 crores on the first day, Thankyou could not collect even 30 percent of that. There is talk that the audience or negative shares are coming in many places. It is said that this movie has a chance to collect 5 crore share if it is big in full run. If that happens, the buyers will lose 19-20 crores.
